After receiving municipal and county tax incentives in April for doubling the size of a proposed building, Kathy Godley has started construction on a million-square-foot industrial park in Troutman.
According to a press release from JLL Marketing on behalf of Godley, “Troutman Industrial Park is one of the largest speculative industrial buildings that has ever broken ground in the Carolinas. When completed, the new facility near Lake Norman will feature a 36-foot clear height, 238 dock-high doors, and parking for approximately 550 trailers and 667 autos.”
A 301,000-square-foot building also built by Godley in 2018 is already completed and leased on the property next to the 155 acres off Murdock Road for the proposed new building. She also developed a 500,000-square-foot building in Mooresville in 2015.
“ With an excellent transportation network, the population growth in the Carolinas and resulting workforce, and the existing manufacturing sector in Iredell County, Troutman Industrial Park is well positioned to serve the needs of the industrial tenants and logistics providers in the region,” Godley said.
According to the press release, JLL is pursuing tenants needing 250,000- to one-million-square-feet of space.
The building is expected to be complete this winter.
