Russell Rogerson, president and CEO of the Iredell County Economic Development Corporation, is resigning, the group announced Thursday morning.

Rogerson’s last day will be March 29.

Rogerson announced a total of 30 projects with investments of $227,434,000 and 1,504 new jobs during his tenure and recently completed the alignment and merging of Mooresville-South Iredell Economic Development Corporation and Statesville Regional Development, according to a news release.

“Iredell County is a great place to live, work and to be an economic developer,” he said in the release. “I have thoroughly enjoyed my time with the community and believe strongly in the future. I am leaving to take on a new opportunity out of state that will be announced soon.”

The remaining members of the team have combined experience in the field of economic development of over 40 years, the release states.
