Despite the cloudy weather, the premier Lake Norman Humane Charity Car Show went forward on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at George Pappas Victory Lanes, 125 Morlake Drive, Mooresville.
Sixty-two cars were on display for the community to visit and view, along with vendors, raffle drawings and music. Lake Norman Humane also had kittens at their tent which were available for adoption during the day.
Charlene Clarke of Mooresville served as the organizer of the car show. And despite the chances of very bad weather, Clarke said there was a “great turnout.”
“There’s a little bit of everything, and the bowling alley has been great,” Clarke noted. “It’s been a really great day.”
Maria Roberson, president of the Lake Norman Humane, said how “wonderful it is to have the support of the community. The money raised goes to help animals that we have rescued from kill shelters and to find them homes.
Allison Allen, animal care coordinator, noted that this was Lake Norman Humane’s first car show and they anticipate it being a yearly event.
