A fugitive from Tennessee was arrested Friday after a report of a suspicious person on a Moped in Alexander County.
Alexander County deputies stopped the Moped on N.C. 127 and checked the driver’s identification, said Sheriff Chris Bowman.
A check revealed the operator, John Ray Davidson, was a wanted fugitive from Sullivan County, Tennessee. He was wanted for failing to appear in court in 2011 on a felony aggravated assault charge.
Davidson was transported to the Alexander County Detention Center to await an extradition hearing. Bond was set at $25,000.
