Two men are facing charges in connection with break-ins to two motor vehicles at the Talbert Woods Apartments early Monday morning.

Aaron Byrd, 23, of Statesville and Dre’Quen Stephens, 23, of Mooresville were each charged with two counts of breaking/entering a motor vehicle and one count each of possession of a stolen firearm and carrying a concealed weapon. Byrd was also charged with larceny. Each received a $10,000 bond from a magistrate after being transported to the Iredell County Detention Center.

Around 2:06 a.m. Monday, Mooresville Police Department officers answered a call on Litewood Lane regarding a motor vehicle break-in in progress. Officers saw a vehicle leaving the area and it was occupied by a person matching the description given by witnesses of the person responsible, the MPD reported in a press release.

Officers found stolen property linked to the motor vehicle break-ins in the area, and also found items released to additional vehicle break-ins in the White Oaks Road area.

The investigation is continuing and additional charges may be filed.
