A Charlotte man faces multiple drug possession charges following an investigation by the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office, a news release stated.

Dondi Christopher Hancock, 30, was charged with two counts of felony possession with intent to sell/deliver a Schedule II controlled substance, two counts sell/deliver a Schedule II controlled substance, two counts maintaining a vehicle for a controlled substance and one count of felony conspiracy to sell/deliver a Schedule II controlled substance.

Hancock is being held on a $75,000 secured bond.

Sheriff Darren Campbell said the initial investigation began in July when narcotics detectives received information from concerned citizens regarding Hancock selling drugs, specifically crack cocaine, in the Mooresville area.

Detectives looked into the complaint and began surveillance and undercover operations, the release stated. Campbell said an undercover detective was able to meet with Hancock and purchase crack cocaine on two separate occasions.

On Saturday, Hancock had planned to meet with the undercover detective in the Langtree Road area of Mooresville, the release said. Detectives suspected Hancock could possibly be in possession of more cocaine.

Campbell said Hancock was arrested at the scene without incident.

Hancock has separate charges pending in Iredell County for felony possession of cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana, the release states. It further stated he has pending charges in Mecklenburg County for misdemeanor larceny, conspiracy and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

State records show Hancock has a criminal history involving drug possession and larceny.

He is due in court Sept. 9.
