A Mooresville man faces charges related to stealing lottery tickets during a break-in, Iredell County Sheriff Darren Campbell stated in a news release.
On Monday, William Joseph Feldman, 36, of Kiskadee Drive, was charged with felony breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering and five counts of obtaining property by false pretense. He received a $25,000 secured bond.
Campbell stated deputies checked into an alarm call from a business in the 2100 block of Charlotte Highway in Mooresville Sunday. The deputies saw that the business had been broken into through one of the front doors. No one was found inside or in the immediate area, Campbell said.
The business owner also arrived and told deputies the only items that seemed to be missing were lottery tickets, the release indicated.
Feldman was developed as a suspect after deputies gathered evidence and warrants were obtained for his arrest. Campbell said Feldman is suspected to have cashed in the stolen lottery tickets at various locations shortly after the breaking and entering.
Feldman was located driving a vehicle on Charlotte Highway near Shinnville Road, and was arrested after a traffic stop.
He has a criminal history of driving without an operator’s license.
He is scheduled to appear in court Jan. 31.
