A Boonville woman has been charged with vehicle theft after an investigation by the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office.
Kimberly Raenette Shores, 50, was charged with felony larceny of a motor vehicle and misdemeanor larceny, Iredell County Sheriff Darren Campbell.
On Sunday, June 16, the sheriff’s office answered a call on Raven Road in Harmony. The owner of a vehicle claimed Shores, who was staying with her, had taken the vehicle without permission, the sheriff’s office reported.
Later that day the victim called the sheriff’s office and said the vehicle had been located in Rowan County and recovered, but items were missing from it. Arrest warrants were obtained and Shores was arrested July 2 and processed at the Yadkin County Sheriff’s Office. She received a $7,500 secured bond.
The criminal history for Shores includes two counts of misdemeanor common law robbery, felony possession of cocaine, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, felony possession of Schedule I controlled substance, misdemeanor unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, felony death by motor vehicle, two counts of misdemeanor contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and 10 counts of driving while license revoked.
