A shooting victim decided to follow an ambulance instead of going to a hospital after an incident in Mooresville Monday. The move led them to a movie theater, though there was no incident involving shots fired at that site.
Two men residing on Selma Drive were visited by two other men prior to the incident, according to a release from the Mooresville Police Department. Shots were fired at the visiting men, the release stated. The victim then followed an ambulance responding to a medical call at Amstar Theatres.
There was no shooting or active shooter incident at the theater, the release stated.
As of Monday afternoon, two victims were at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center, one with a gunshot wound and a second with an injury not yet confirmed. One victim was hospitalized in Charlotte with gunshot wounds. An investigation is ongoing.
