MOORESVILLE Joseph "Joe" Thomas Brown, 28, of Mooresville, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Thursday, Sept.6, 2018. He was born Nov. 28, 1989, in Mooresville, to Larry Thomas Brown and Mary Alexander Brown of Mooresville. Joseph earned his Eagle Scout and was a graduate of Lake Norman High School and Mitchell Community College. He then received his bachelor's degree from UNC Chapel Hill, where he was in the Kenan-Flagler Business School and also studied abroad in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Joseph was in the process of receiving his Master's degree from Western Carolina in Sports Administration and was currently doing his internship at Davidson College Athletics. He was a member of Landis Baptist Church in Landis. He enjoyed hunting, snow and water skiing through ASAP and loved technology. Joseph was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Calvin and Armetta Brown; and maternal grandmother, Annette Alexander. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sister, Hannah Jackson and her husband, John; brother, Daniel Brown; and maternal grandparents, Davies and Alice Alexander. The family will receive friends today, Sunday, Sept. 9, from 2 to 4 p.m., at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, Sept. 10, at Landis Baptist Church with the Rev. Ritchie Honeycutt officiating. The body will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow the service at Williamson's Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Muscular Dystrophy Association, 207 Regency Executive Park Dr., Suite 170, Charlotte, NC 28217.
