The Mooresville Graded School District Board of Education is set to approve its 2020-21 school-year calendar.
The calendar approval is among the items on the board’s agenda for its meeting Tuesday at Mooresville Town Hall, 413 N. Main St. The meeting starts at 6 p.m.
Recently re-elected board members Roger Hyatt, Debbie Marsh and Kerry Pennell will take the oath of office, and the board will elect a chairperson and vice chairperson.
The board will recognize Marsh and two sports teams for recent accomplishments. Marsh was elected to the North Carolina School Board Association Board of Directors. The Mooresville Middle School eighth-grade softball team will be recognized as the 2019 conference champion, and the school’s girls tennis team will be honored for the same achievement.
The Above and Beyond the Call of Duty Award will be presented to Christine Beaudoin, a teacher assistant at South Elementary School. Alex Theodorakators, an eighth-grader at Mooresville Middle School, will be honored as the artist of the month.
The board will also consider approval for a field trip to Mooresville’s sister city, Hockenheim, Germany.
