Troutman Elementary School recently held its fourth annual Fuel Up to Play 60 family night and health fair. Fuel Up to Play 60 is designed to engage and empower youth to take action for their health by implementing long-term, positive changes for themselves and their schools.
Participants were encouraged to make healthy food choices and get at least 60 minutes of physical activity every day. In the gym, activities were set up for families to do together such as tennis, martial arts, jump rope, yoga, karate and Zumba. In the cafeteria, local businesses, community organizations and restaurants set up tables displaying wellness information along with healthy food choices.
Students also enjoyed meeting with special guests Sir Purr from the Carolina Panthers, Statesville’s Chick-fil-A cow, and Harry the Dragon from Harris Teeter.
