Causing harm while also drawing a foul, Mooresville’s Griselda Callejas polishes off a drive in spite of physical contact against visiting Vance.

Staying steady as she goes wasn’t exactly the preferred game plan for Mooresville’s girls basketball team.

The Blue Devils were limited to single-digit outputs during each of their four periods of play in a 55-24 defeat at the hands of I-Meck Conference opponent Vance.

The defeat also dropped Mooresville to 2-8 in the conference and 7-13 overall.

Vance is not only contending for this season’s conference crown but also boasts a No. 15 ranking in the most recently released N.C. 4A girls basketball poll.

The Devils endured their most damaging deficit of the game in the second period for a 28-9 differential. More of the same, though perhaps not quite as imposing, transpired during each second-half quarter as well.

The Devils highlight on the offensive front came from the successful sinking of at least one 3-point shot from sophomore guard Griselda Callejas.

No additional individual information was available.

Mooresville ventured into this Tuesday to take on arch-rival Lake Norman, with results too late to be included in this edition. They return home for the next-to-the-last time this regular season when playing host to Hopewell High.
