The Mooresville Board of Commissioners will meet Monday and will hear presentations from law enforcement and the Mooresville Youth Council Robotics Team.

The Iredell County Sheriff’s Office and Mooresville Police Department are set to make presentations. The MPD presentation will involve a citizen’s recognition.

The board meets at 6 p.m. at Mooresville Town Hall, 413 N. Main St.

There are also a number of items on the consent agenda. These items will be voted on as a group unless a board member asks that they be removed and discussed.

Items on the consent agenda include:

Amendment to the Willis Engineers Inc. project, not to exceed $100,000, for work on the CEI services at Rocky River and Mount Mourne outfalls and Langtee sewer installation. This will increase the contract amount from $318,000 to $418,000 for additional work required to complete construction, engineering and inspection services. Also, consider an agreement for professional services with Willis Engineers for $227,000 for design services for the new booster pump station.

Amendment to the Allegiance Staffing contract for $10,000 for temporary staffing services at the library.

Consider accepting Champion Court in the Parkmount Subdivision.

Consider renewing or approving agreements for annual maintenance for the police department’s software, support for software maintenance for the finance and human resources department and annual maintenance and support of the town’s access control system.

Consider a request from the fire department to sell out-of-date helmets for $1 to 13 firefighters who wore the helmets for the past 10 years.

Consider directing the application to the Local Government Commission for approval of Enterprise Systems Revenue Refunding Bonds and requesting approval of the town’s Enterprise Systems Revenue Refunding Bonds.

Consider accepting funds from Iredell County equipment reserve and approving Mooresville Fire-Rescue to utilize $21,984 of the equipment reserve to purchase two night vision binoculars. MFR will be reimbursed by the county upon submission of a receipt for purchase.

Consider amending the contract with Aegis Building Systems in the amount of $25,935 to add metal liner panels and snow guards to the existing facility at Selma Burke.

Consider accepting a number of donations - $250 from Christopher and Aleta Hart for the Mooresville Youth Council Robotics Team; $100 Petco gift card by Midnight Muldowney to be used for the care of MPD canine, Ramon; $20 Red Robin gift card given anonymously to the MPD; $1,076 donation from Lowe’s Foods to the MPD in honor of Officer Jordan Sheldon.$1,126 from Sheldon’s K9s, collars, nail trimmer, food storage containers and training toys and leads; $100 donation from Frank and Susan Cerminara from Naples, Florida to the fire department.

Consider approving a request from the MPD to accept a grant of $21,850 from the North Carolina Department of Public Safety/Governor’s Crime Commission to support enhancements to the Criminal Investigations Division. No match is required by the town.

Consider an amendment to appropriate fund balance to provide legal and advisory services in connection with the possible sale of Continuum.

Consider approving the annual contract of $125,000 with All Sports Officials to provide referees, umpires and scorekeepers for youth and adult athletic leagues.

Consider approving a budget amendment appropriating fund balance and awarding a construction contract for the Mazeppa Park bridge replacement to Span Builders LLC not to exceed $107,740 to replace a pedestrian bridge and its foundational components in the park. The work will last approximately 90 days.

Consider a request from Johnson Manor Home Owners Association to reduce the speed limits to 25 mph.

Consider rental rates for the Mooresville Performing Arts Center to offer third party rentals on dates approved for town usage by the Mooresville Graded School District.

Also on the agenda is a report from the manager and a closed session.
