Winter fun is being predicted … fun at the Winter Bash: A Party with a Purpose, that is, and all are invited to attend this special fundraising event.

The Evening Exchange Club of Mooresville/Lake Norman is hosting its second annual Winter Bash on Jan. 25 from 7-10 p.m. at The Finish Line Restaurant, 125 Morlake Drive, Mooresville.

Proceeds from the event will go to Hope of Mooresville (HOMe) and the Piedmont Veterans Assistance Council (PVAC). Tickets are $45 each from a club member (contact eveningexchangeclub@gmail.com) or thru the Facebook event online (+ service fee) @eveningexchangeclubLKN.

Tickets will cover a buffet dinner, along with a DJ who will provide music for dancing, a cash bar and a chance to win a door prize.

Also planned throughout the evening will be a silent auction. Several local businesses and supporters have donated items for the auction, some of which are a week’s stay at a condo in North Myrtle Beach and the decorated bowling pins, which serve as the event mascot. The used pins were donated by Victory Lanes and decorated by members of the Evening Exchange Club.

The club was presented a national fundraising award for its first Winter Bash during the 101st annual National Exchange Club convention in Norfolk, Va. in August, and club president Cyndi Richards was asked to share the club’s efforts and experiences about the fundraising event at a training session as well.

“Last year’s event was a fantastic evening,” said Richards, “and club members have worked hard to prepare for this year’s event too.”

Richards said they are still accepting event sponsors or donations. Those interested in helping in this way, or for any other questions or tickets, contact her at eveningexchangeclub@gmail.com.
