Mooresville High School alumni Dr. Brandon Winford will present a program Thursday on growing up in Mooresville and about his newest book “John Harvey Wheeler, Black Banking and the Economic Struggle for Civil Rights.”
The program will be at 6:30 p.m. at the MHS Performing Arts Center, 659 E. Center Ave.
Winford is a 2001 graduate of Mooresville High School and is an associate professor at the University of Tennessee. He will speak to a MHS social studies class about his experiences as an African-American boy growing up in Mooresville and how those experiences impacted his future.
The community is invited to the evening event to learn more about Winford’s story and hear about his book.
