MOORESVILLE Mr. David Wilson Belk, 82, of Mooresville, went to be with the Lord Thursday, July 4, 2019, at Genesis Eldercare of Mooresville. He was born Aug. 12, 1936, in Rowan County, to the late Oscar Norris Belk and Sarah Pauline Ketchie Belk. He attended Mooresville City Schools. David worked as a farmer, brick mason, and carpenter with his brother and sons at Belk Construction. He was a member of Berea Baptist Church, Mooresville, where he attended faithfully while his health would allow. David greatly loved his Lord Jesus Christ and his family. He will be greatly missed, especially for his larger than life sense of humor. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Pete Belk; and his sister, Harriet Stevens. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Louise Bostian Belk; sisters, Wanda Belk Haupt of Pa., JoAnn Belk Land of Ariz.; children, David Allen Belk (Angie), Anita Belk Kutschenko (Uwe), Brenda Belk Benoist (Mike), Mary Belk Marlowe (Tommy), Bruce Wayne Belk (DeeDee); 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Monday, July 8, from 11 to 12 p.m., with a service following at 12 p.m., at Berea Baptist Church with the Revs. Dan Freeman and Joshua Lathan officiating. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Baptist's Children's Home of NC, P.O.
