Carol Sitterley of Mooresville, a Boeing 767 captain for American Airlines, made her final flight recently.
She is adopting a new uniform standard as she retired after 36 years in the airline industry.
She flew her final Atlantic crossing from Amsterdam to Philadelphia recently. She made a great landing at Philadelphia despite a few tears.
Sitterley was hired in 1984 and was among the pioneers of women airline pilots in a field that was largely male-dominated.
