MOORESVILLE Eloise Gryder Black, 85, of Mooresville, passed away Thursday, July 25, 2019, at Universal Healthcare in Concord. She was born June 25, 1934, in Huntersville, to the late Rome and Elizabeth Auten Gryder. Mrs. Black was retired from Burlington Industries. She was a member of Laura Memorial Church of God in Mooresville, where she loved her church and served faithfully. Mrs. Black's favorite place to eat was Corrine's in Mooresville. She loved her family and was loved by them. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse William Black. She is survived by her sons, Larry Hartsell and wife, Catherine, Charles Black; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends today, Sunday, July 28, from 2 to 3 p.m., with services following at 3 p.m., at Laura Memorial Church of God with the Rev. Frank Smith officiating. Burial will follow the service at Glenwood Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Laura Memorial Church of God, 2173 Charlotte Hwy, Mooresville, NC 28115.
