DENVER, N.C. William "Bill" Ray Brown, 60, passed away peacefully Monday, Nov. 4, 2019, due to respiratory failure. He was born Nov. 7, 1958, to William and Pauline Brown of Mooresville. Bill was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Barbara Harmon. Bill is survived by his daughter, Heather Iannone; wife, Cynthia Brown; brother, Alvin Brown and his wife, Gayle; brother-in-law, Jimmy Harmon; sister, Becky Deal and her husband, Jeff; stepchildren, Ed Williams and his wife, Jessica, and Teresa Neill; stepgrandchildren, Hunter Williams, Savannah Williams, McKenna Williams, Levi Williams, and Ross Neill; and many nieces and nephews. A special mention is reserved for his very best friend of 13 years, Rascal, a Kentucky-born feist, who misses him dearly. Bill was well known for his love of cooking, serving, and eating good food. He enjoyed road trips to the beach and mountains, and had a kid-like excitement whenever it snowed. He was also an avid reader and had a deep appreciation of Native American history. Another of his passions was college football, he enjoyed every season. His unfortunate passing leaves many missing him. We find hope and comfort in Jesus Christ our Lord until we are all reunited in heaven. The memorial service was held at Lakeside Church of God in Denver, N.C., Saturday, Nov. 9.
