MOORESVILLE Ruth Ann Alexander Carroll, 83, of Mooresville, passed away Friday, Jan. 3, 2020, at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis. She was born Nov. 16, 1936. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Carroll Sr. Ruth, better known as "Nana" was loved by all and touched every life she knew with kindness. She was an active member of the Mooresville Senior High Booster Club for many years. She loved sports especially when it came to watching her sons and grandchildren at every event in which they participated. She also loved cheering on the Atlanta Braves. Ruth retired from Fieldcrest Cannon Mills. She was an active member of Peninsula Baptist Church, Mooresville. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Ruth is survived by her sons, Roddy Alexander Ballard and wife, Emily Patterson Ballard and Ronald Kent Carroll and wife, Rachel Graham Carroll, all of Mooresville; grandchildren, Roddy Ballard Jr. of Maryville Tenn., Brandon Ballard of Charlotte, Chance Carroll and Chole Carroll, both of Mooresville. The family will have a private graveside service to lay her to rest. The family would like to say a special thank you to the staff members of both Summit Place of Mooresville and Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County for the excellent care that was provided to Ruth. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Peninsula Baptist Church, 687 Brawley School Rd., Mooresville, NC 28117; and/or Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC 28081. "Make yourself familiar with the Angels and behold them frequently in spirit; for without being seen, they are present with you."
