MOORESVILLE Harold Elbert Christy, 91, of Mooresville, passed away Monday, May 27, 2019, at his residence. Born Sept. 3, 1927, in Iredell County, he was a son of the late Jonathan Monroe Christy and Ada Beaver Christy. Mr. Christy was a retired distribution lineman for Duke Power, and after his retirement he worked as an appliance repair technician. He helped build and attended Wiggins Road Baptist Church in Mooresville, where he was a member of the senior adult class. He was a World War II veteran, having served in the U.S. Navy. Mr. Christy played country music with sons and family. He was preceded in death by 10 siblings. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Louise P. Christy, whom he married June 10, 1951; children, Don Christy and wife, Sarita, of Smyrna, Tenn., Ron Christy and Pam Banker, of Smyrna, Dale Christy and wife, Rose Anna, of Mooresville; five grandchildren, Ron L. Christy Jr., Cody and Jordan Carpenter, Nicole Grissom and husband, Seth, and Parker Christy and wife, Paige; and four great-grandchildren, Kylee and Rylan Brandon, Annabelle Anderson and Coraleigh Thomas. Special thanks to Lucille Hedgecock, sister-in-law, and Ron L. Christy Jr. for their loving support. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, May 31, at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home Chapel in Mooresville. Burial will follow at Iredell Memorial Park in Statesville. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, May 30, at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home.
