MOORESVILLE Wilma Louise Edwards Hahs, 96, died Sunday, July 14, 2019, at her home in Mooresville. Born Aug. 28, 1922, in Benton, Mo., she was a daughter of the late Robert Hosea Edwards and Essie Marzella Edwards. She had three brothers and two sisters. She was preceded in death by two brothers; and one sister. She is survived by her younger sister, Dorothy Jean, 93; and her younger brother, Jason Lionel, 82. Wilma was married to John Clyde Hahs when they were 19, and lived throughout Missouri in Sikeston, Cape Girardeau, and finally in the St. Louis area during their early years. Wilma transferred with her husband to California in the early 1960's. Wilma and her husband, John Clyde, had one son and three daughters, Robert Dale, Sharon Ann, Patricia Louise and Nancy Dawn. Wilma was preceded in death by her husband, John Clyde; and son Robert Dale. Wilma is survived by one daughter-in-law, Peggy Hahs of Pensacola, Fla.; three daughters and sons-in law, Sharon and Ken Mudgett of Reno, Nev., Patricia and Steve Lockley of Mooresville, and Nancy and Clay Bryan of Ventura, Calif.; 10 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. Wilma worked for several firms during her career; including Emerson Electric, teaching IBM keypunch at West Coast Trade School, at Marshal Stevens as a keypunch supervisor, retiring from Bio-Science Industries. A big part of Wilma and her husband's life was their Masonic affiliation. Wilma rose to the position of Worthy Matron of Eastern Star in the Canoga Park, California Lodge. She was also a life-time member of Daughters of the Nile and other Masonic organizations. After a brief time in Florida, Wilma and John relocated back to Sikeston, Mo., where they joined the First Baptist Church. In Sikeston they celebrated their 71st wedding anniversary, along with their 90th birthdays with friends and family. Wilma's husband, John Clyde, passed away in 2013, and Wilma remained in Sikeston for four more years until July 2017, when she relocated to North Carolina to be near a daughter and son-in-law. She was laid to rest next to her husband, John Clyde, Saturday, July 20, in Oakwood Memorial Park, Chatsworth, Calif.
