Sharon L. Hermansen MOORESVILLE Sharon L. Hermansen, 69, of Mooresville, died peacefully at home, Sunday, June 9, 2019. Sharon Lee Wynkoop was born Aug. 23, 1949, in Oil City Pa. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Donald G. Wynkoop and Phyllis C. Wynkoop; and her three sisters, Donna McCarthy, Susan Goss and Janet Wynkoop. She is survived by her loving husband, Don Hermansen; daughter, Mary Lee Badeaux; son, John Lowell Hermansen; granddaughter, Calista Lee Hermansen and grandson, Kobe James Krause. She was a graduate of Oil City High School; she received her associate degree in Secretarial studies. She was a dedicated wife, loving mother and grandmother. She thought of her husband, children and grandchildren as her greatest accomplishments in life. Her other legacy was her compassionate nature towards anyone she came in contact with. Her love of animals led her on a path to become an internationally acclaimed dog trainer. She founded The Canine Seizure Assist Society of North Carolina and enriched many people's lives through her service work of training dogs for people afflicted by seizures. As a faithful Christian, she is now with the Lord. A memorial service at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home is being planned in the near future. In lieu of flowers, please make a charitable donation to the Humane Society; St. Jude Children's hospital; or the Arthritis Foundation, as these causes were close to her heart. Cavin-Cook Funeral Home, Mooresville, is serving the family of Mrs. Hermansen. Condolences may be made to the family at cavin-cook.com.
