South Iredell 52, East Wilkes 42

TROUTMAN—Ashtyn Zeigler tallied 15 points Friday to lead South Iredell to a 52-42 victory over East Wilkes.

The Vikings (3-1) outscored East Wilkes (0-2) in the first three quarters, including a 15-6 advantage in the opening period.

Jasmine King scored 10 points for South Iredell, and Sarah Nelson and Tae Brown added nine points apiece.

Lake Norman 55, Cox Mill 26

CONCORD—Lauren Sullivan pumped in a game-high 22 points and Leigh Marks added eight points as Lake Norman cruised to a 55-26 victory Friday over Cox Mill.

The Wildcats held the Chargers to one point in the second quarter and led 31-14 at halftime.

Ashley Kennedy chimed in with seven points for the Wildcats, and Madison Saunders grabbed 14 rebounds.

Alexander Central 66, Lincolnton 29

LINCOLNTON—Alexander Central got out of the gate quick and never looked back Friday in a 66-29 win over Lincolnton.

The Cougars (3-1) outscored the Wolves (0-3) 21-4 in the first quarter and led 41-10 at halftime.

Gracie Harrington scored 14 points and nabbed five rebounds to lead Alexander Central. Karly Fairchild and Teagan Pennell each supplied 12 points, and Fairchild also made six steals.

Sydney Hayes led the Cougars in rebounding with 10.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Lincolnton 60, Alexander Central 55

LINCOLNTON—Davis Grooms poured in a game-high 23 points Friday as Lincolnton upended Alexander Central 60-55.

Jem Lowrance scored 20 points and pulled down seven rebounds to lead the Cougars (2-2), who led 29-27 at halftime.

Evan Presnell and Maddox Kerley contributed 14 and 11 points, respectively, against the Wolves (2-1).

Cox Mill 67, Lake Norman 42

CONCORD—Bailey Gentile’s 13 points paced 10 Cox Mill scorers Friday as the Chargers defeated Lake Norman 67-42 to improve to 6-1 on the season.

The Chargers pulled away in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Wildcats (1-2) 26-12.

Clay Hodges scored 14 points to lead Lake Norman.

Pine Lake Prep 75, Lake Norman Charter 48

MOORESVILLE—Pine Lake Prep secured its first win of the season Friday, beating Lake Norman Charter 75-48.

The Pride (1-3) outscored Lake Norman Charter 20-9 in the first quarter and led 30-15 at halftime.

Jacob Morgan scored 15 points to lead Pine Lake Prep. Meelad Doroodchi and Jack Baldwin each supplied 12 points, and Cole Callaway and JT Harper contributed 11 apiece.
