They’re back!

On the heels of an earlier-summer successful appearance, the Top Gun Flag Football organization is making plans to return to the Mooresville area later this week.

This time around, TGFF will once again be partnering with the Mooresville Convention & Visitors Bureau to conduct the Southeast Beast Co-Ed Top Gun Flag Football Championships.

All festivities surrounding the action will once again be held at the Mazeppa Road Park multi-field complex.

The return engagement comes following the playing of the East Coach Regional Top Gun Flag Football Championship held the middle of last month.

Play in the Southeast Beast event will take place beginning Saturday and continue with the crowning of a number of division champions Sunday.

Teams from throughout the East Coast will once again invade Mooresville for the competition.

Divisions with titles up for grabs include 5-on-5 Co-Ed, 5-on-5 Women’s, 5-on-5 Men’s and 8-on-8 Men’s Non-Contact.

“Every team loves the facility,” said Jason Smith, with Top Gun Flag Football, “and we are excited to make this tournament a huge success.”

Play in the attraction breaks huddle Saturday morning. Championship games in all divisions are scheduled to be held Sunday.

With an even larger team turnout anticipated, not only will the artificial as well as natural-grass fields at the Mazeppa Road Park facility’s site be in use but also some of the outfield areas at the location’s combination baseball/softball fields will also be serving as game sites.
