Pine Lake jumped out to an early lead but Cherryville scored twice in the fourth and won 34-24.

The loss drops Pine Lake to 4-6 overall and 2-5 in the conference heading into the last game of the season Friday.

The Pride got off to an 8-0 lead in the first quarter and added two more points on a safety in the second. Cherryville put 13 on the board in the second and went into the half up by three. The two teams traded touchdowns in the third and Pine Lake trailed by four at the end of the quarter.

Cherryville scored twice in the fourth and held the Pride to one score for the final of 34-24.

The Pride will close the regular season at home Friday against Community School of Davidson.
