Lake Norman 86, Mooresville 73

MOORESVILLE—Jack Edmonson put up 30 points Tuesday night as Lake Norman downed rival Mooresville 86-73.

The Blue Devils led 16-11 after the first quarter. Lake Norman responded with 24 points in the second quarter and 28 in the third to surge ahead 63-51.

Seth Aeschliman added 12 points for the Wildcats (13-8, 6-5). Clay Hodges and Cam Kepley rounded out their double figure scorers with 11 points apiece.

K.C. Shaw pumped in 21 points to lead the Blue Devils (4-17, 0-11).

Alexander Central 69, McDowell 51

TAYLORSVILLE—Alexander Central scored 38 points in the paint and shot 61.7% (29 of 47) from the field on its way to a 69-51 win Tuesday night over McDowell.

Jem Lowrance and Maddox Kerley were each 7 of 10 from the field, and both finished with 16 points to share game-high scoring honors. They each pulled down five rebounds as well.

Zach Herman made all six of his shots and contributed 14 points.

The Cougars built a 19-10 lead in the first quarter and never looked back.


Lake Norman 59, Mooresville 36

MOORESVILLE—Lake Norman outscored Mooresville in every quarter Tuesday night en route to a 59-36 victory.

Ashley Kennedy tossed in a game-high 16 points for the Wildcats. Kirsten Lewis-Williams supplied 14 points and 10 rebounds, and Madison Saunders added 10 points.

Megan Bornkamp’s 10 points led the Blue Devils, who trailed 23-16 at halftime but were outscored 36-20 in the second half.

McDowell 68, Alexander Central 65 (OT)

TAYLORSVILLE— McDowell outscored Alexander Central 8-5 in overtime to prevail 68-65 on Tuesday night.

Makenna Parkins shot 50% from the field (12 of 24) and beyond the arc (4 of 8) and finished with a game-high 31 points for the Titans. Parkins pulled down 20 rebounds to complete a double-double while also dishing out five assists.

Naliyah Boyce added 19 points and 10 rebounds for McDowell, which trailed 26-24 at halftime.

Gracie Harrington scored 17 points to lead the Cougars. Nikki Hagy and Lanie Hammer chipped in 10 points apiece, and Hagy grabbed 11 rebounds.
