There continues to be no place like home for Lake Norman’s wrestling team.
Serving as the hosts of a four-team affair, the Wildcats remained unbeaten for the season with favorable verdicts in all three of their appearances.
The only entry in the field to be so successful, Lake Norman clocked in with wins by respective scores of 72-3 over Elkin, 68-4 opposite Providence Day Academy, and 48-30 against Salisbury to keep its scorecard clean.
There were several individual efforts to credit for the feat as well.
The crew of Kaden Fisher at 120 pounds, Nick DiLeo at 126 pounds, Evan Chouinard at 152 pounds, Bradley Wilson at 182 pounds, Cooper Marcy at 195 pounds and Caleb Tate at 220 pounds all mirrored the team’s effort with matching 3-0 mat marks of their own.
To pad the home team’s look, multiple bouts apiece were also collected courtesy of Jeremiah Garcia at 106 pounds, Andrew Downum at 113 pounds, Daniel Beneni at 132 pounds, Timmy Kennett at 145 pounds, Hunter Barbour at 160 pounds and Alex Baker at 285 pounds/heavyweight.
Wins gathered from Garcia, Downum, Fisher, DiLeo, Beneni, Kennett, Chouinard, Barbour, Wilson, Marcy, Tate and Hayden Fann at 138 pounds helped fuel the win over Elkin.
Likewise, the cast comprised of Garcia, Downum, Fisher, DiLeo, Beneni, Kennett, Chouinard, Wilson, Barbour, Marcy, Tate and Baker helped buoy the defeat of Provide Day.
Favorable verdicts apiece rendered by Fisher, DiLeo, Chouinard, Wilson, Marcy, Tate and Baker all combined to enable the Wildcats to down Salisbury.
Lake Norman headed back into action for its annual Lake Norman Duals in action in preparation for the beginning of pivotal I-Meck Conference competition that gets underway later this week.
