Singles servings alone served Lake Norman’s girls tennis team well.
The Wildcats racked up enough points during the course of singles sessions alone to secure a win before boosting the performance during doubles to down cross-county visitor South Iredell, 7-2.
With the win, Lake Norman moved to the 3-0 mark for the season overall while also upping its efforts against fellow same-county crews to the 2-0 mark.
The Wildcats banked pro-set wins by all but one of their singles players to take a 5-1 edge into doubles and padded that cushion courtesy of collecting favorable verdicts in two of the trio of doubles duels to boot.
Gathering in wins by singles included, in order of team rank, Tanea Spruill, Samantha Beaver, Chloe Lind, Julia Dow and Tyler Mazzie. The twosome of Lind and Mazzie were each dealt just one lone game defeat.
Though entering doubles already assured of the team win, that didn’t prevent the duos of Dow and Beaver, and Mazzie and Carlye Pieratt from bagging pro-set wins to account for the match’s final score.
Lake Norman next will travel to take on Statesville Monday afternoon.
